VP-22 Welrod

A stunning recreation of a historic firearm

The VP-22 (Ветеринарний Пістолет-22) is a .22 caliber, bolt action, magazine fed, optionally suppressed pistol. It is influenced by the British Welrod Mk 1 pistol. While designed for point blank or very short range, it is reasonably accurate to 25 meters.

The design includes a grip safety, and a magazine that is integral to the grip. It can be fired without the grip/magazine making for a very compact package

While the pistol can be safely fired using High Velocity 22LR, optimal ammunition used would be 22LR Subsonic, or 22LR CCI Quiet. Even quieter are the 22 Colibri!

Aside from fasteners, only a few metal parts are required. Barrel liner, breech face, 2 bearings, springs, and pins.

It is easily printed using less than .5kg of filament with only one part needing support. Excellent, thorough documentation make this an achievable build, even if its not an easy one.
